Dawn of Warfare is a strategy game where you take charge of a military base. Your objective is to recruit a powerful army capable of fighting against all the other armies around the world, which of course are chomping at the bit to destroy you.

Gameplay in Dawn of Warfare is typical for games of this genre: you complete missions to receive resources which you can then use to complete more missions. These missions are typically pretty simple, like leveling up a building, attacking an enemy base, getting a certain number of resources, and so on. When you complete several missions, you'll also receive a big prize and level up.

From your operations base, you can recruit troops and improve your soldiers, which are the most important units when you charge into battle. The more powerfully your units attack, the better your chances of winning battles, which play out automatically. All you can do is watch while your troops attack.
